My touring philosophy is to follow the road less traveled, stop whenever something interesting peaks my interest, support local businesses, and generally find adventure along the way... whether that be soaking in hot springs, hiking up mountains, or just keeping away from big cities. Splurges should always be made when the moment presents itself, whether it's a meal with new friends, a soft bed and warm shower when needed, or hitching a ride to make up time.
About Me
Once upon a time, I was a corporate lawyer in Washington DC. I sold my soul for about five years, paid off the mortgage on my brain, and then walked out on my Big Law job to wander across Mexico on two wheels in early 2013. Fast forward to today... I live in Bend, Oregon, where our town's motto is "your vacation is our life." I find myself slightly bewildered trying to balance my fist-shaking activist self, my vagrant wandering self, and my sorta responsible small business owner self. These days, I spend a lot of my spare time advocating for better bike commuting infrastructure as a board member for Bend Bikes and motivating other women/trans/femme road warriors to travel by bike.
